VACATIONERS looking for a no-stress trip without leaving the country can find peace in the city recently named America's most relaxed. Fremont, California , was recently named the "least stressed city in America" in a study ranking 182 cities across the US. The city's financial stability brought on the top ranking in a recent survey by personal finance website WalletHub .

Fremont, on the east side of San Francisco Bay, has one of the lowest poverty rates among the surveyed states. “Some stress is out of our control, due to issues with family, friends or employers," Cassandra Happe, an analyst at Wallethub, said. "However, where you live can play a big role in how stressed you are.

Cities with high crime rates, weak economies, less effective public health and congested transportation systems naturally lead to elevated stress levels for residents. WalletHub researchers found Fremont had the lowest health and safety stress rank and the second-lowest financial stress rank as the city with the least financial stress out of the 182 surveyed is South Burlington, Vermont.
