Travel enthusiasts are raving about a hidden gem destination in Italy that has been touted as a cheap yet stunning alternative to the Amalfi Coast. Tropea is a seaside town in Italy's southern region of Calabria. While it is estimated that five million people visit the Amalfi Coast each year, Tropea remains relatively unknown to foreign tourists - although it is a popular destination for Italians.
Travel influencer @haylsa, who has more than 430,000 followers on TikTok, recently shared a video showcasing Tropea's stunning beaches and blue waters. She said in the caption: "T his place is insanely beautiful!! It's only a six hour train from Rome and is cheaper and more quiet than the Amalfi or Cinque Terre." Another travel influencer who goes by @alidalifetravel on TikTok visited Tropea last year.
