Right now at the Olympics every athlete received an "Olympic edition" Galaxy Z Flip 6, and earlier this year I tested a Honor foldable phone with a Porsche logo. Infinix, which is relatively new to the global phone scene, is not about to be left out.

So the Shenzhen-headquartered tech firm has teamed up with BMW Designworks to launch a branded version of the Note 40 phones. Infinix is keen to play up the fact that unlike other brands, which make its special edition phones limited to the highest tier model which drives up price, the entire Note 40 series is getting the BMW Designworks treatment, meaning even the entry level device which starts at $209. The unit I tested is the highest tier Pro Plus model, which is still priced at just $329.

The phone comes with a 6.8-inch screen with refresh rate up to 120Hz, a Dimensity 7020 silicon, 4,600 mAh battery, in a very thin 8.1mm body.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus screen Construction is solid, and the phone looks like a flagship. While the camera module houses three lenses, there’s really only one usable 108-megapixel camera. The other two are mostly pointless 2-megapixel sensors.

The lack of an ultra-wide camera or zoom lens is jarring, even considering the price range. So what mak.
