New Zealand registered a historic win over India in the second Test of the three-match series played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The Kiwis defeated India by 113 runs and were able to achieve their first-ever Test series win in India. New Zealand also became the first-ever team to defeat India in India after a gap of more than 12 years.

The Kiwis totally outplayed the Indian batting lineup in Pune and never really allowed them to settle throughout the match. Mitchell Santner proved to be the major difference between both the teams and picked up 13 wickets in the match. The Test match started off with Kiwis opting to bat first on a dry Pune surface. Tom Latham and Devon Conway helped their team achieve a decent start and added 32 runs for the first wicket. Latham was the first batter to fall as he was trapped in front by Ravichandran Ashwin.

Will Young also gave decent support to Conway he was also dismissed by Ashwin for 18 runs. Rachin Ravindra came out to bat and continued from where he left in the last match. The duo of Conway and Rachin added 62 runs from 117 balls which provided stability to the Kiwis.

At the end, Ashwin dismissed Conway for a score of 76 runs. Mitchell Santner Rips Off Indian Batting Lineup New Zealand created another partnership between Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell which took the Kiwis to a score of 197 run.
