Thursday, January 23, 2025 The Delhi Traffic Police has released an advisory for residents of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) ahead of the full-dress rehearsals for the Republic Day parade scheduled for January 23. To ensure a seamless execution of the parade and to manage the expected traffic surge, comprehensive traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place. Commuters and travelers are strongly urged to plan their journeys to avoid inconvenience.
The full-dress rehearsal will begin at 10:30 a.m. on January 23, starting from Vijay Chowk and concluding at the Red Fort.
The rehearsal will follow a fixed route, which includes the following prominent locations: Given the scale of the parade, traffic restrictions will also extend to January 22 to ensure security and logistical preparedness. 1. Kartavyapath Closure : The section of Kartavyapath from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will remain closed to vehicular traffic starting at 6:00 p.
m. on January 22 until the conclusion of the parade on January 23. Travelers are advised to avoid this area entirely during the closure.
2. No Cross Traffic : Major intersections including Rafi Marg, Janpath, and Man Singh Road will not permit cross-traffic from 11:00 p.m.
