Indian batsmen launched scathing attack on Bangladesh bowlers on Day 4 of the 2nd Test between the two teams happening at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. After Bangladesh were bowled out for 233 on the back of a hundred by Mominul Haque, India started its innings in breathtaking fashion as the records for the fastest team fifty, fastest team hundred and fastest team two-hundred broke in blink of an eye. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma kickstarted the Indian innings in thrilling fashion as the team reached the score of fifty in just three overs.
By reaching the score of 51 in exactly 3 overs, India recorded the fastest 50 in Test cricket. Rohit lost his wicket in the next over as he was clean bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. The Indian captain walked back after scoring 19 off 11 balls.
Jaiswal, though kept punishing the Bangladesh bowlers as he completed his half-century in only 31 balls. India's no.3 Shubman Gill too started his innings in attacking fashion.
The partnership between Jaiswal and Gill took India beyond 100 in 10.1 overs as India also broke the record of quickest team 100 in Test cricket. Jaiswal's fiery knock of 72 off 51 balls came to an end when he was clean bowled by Hasan Mahmud in the 15th over.
Gill (39 off 36 balls) and Rishabh Pant (9 in 11 deliveries) fell in quick succession but India did not drop its tempo. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul carried on with the attacking ways as India breached the 200-run mark in 24.2 overs.
