An epic car cruise is brewing next Saturday in East Deer, Pittsburgh Brewing Co. and MaxMotive officials say. The two landmark businesses have paired up for the Iron City Car Cruise on Aug.

17 at the brewery. The event already has 650 car registrations, said Rachel Semelbauer, brewery spokeswoman. The brewery is looking to max out at 800 registrations.

“For car enthusiasts, this should be one of the most sought-after events,” she said. Pittsburgh Brewing still is accepting registrations for the car cruise. Registration is $5.

It includes all types of cars, trucks, motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles, Semelbauer said. Registered cars can come as early as 9 a.m.

that day. Bobby Maxwell, general manager of Cheswick-based MaxMotive, said his dealership has held large car cruises at the Monroeville Convention Center and at the formerly named Heinz Field in previous summers. MaxMotive specializes in the sale of classic cars, muscle cars and custom vehicles.

Maxwell said the business was approached by the brewery over the winter to host the event, and the partnership sounded like a perfect deal. “The brewery up there is so beautiful,” he said. Admission for the general public is free.

The family-friendly event will be held rain or shine, Semelbauer said. Registrants will receive a free dash plaque, commemorative Iron City Beer can, inaugural T-shirt and a “Do not touch” postcard, Semelbauer said. The white, commemorative beer can has a traditional Iron City logo on one.
