Many across Merseyside will be making the most of their last few days off, from fun trips to jet setting to a hotter destination with their loved ones. But no matter how good of a time we've had this summer, many of us still look back at the good old days having fun on Merseyside.

Some traditions never change, from playing out in the street to heading to popular hotspots, but some generations remember how life used to be here decades ago. ‌ Before the days of social media, technology we know today and holidays abroad became more popular, generations of Merseyside children spent long summer days exploring. The summer holidays were an adventure for generations of kids and many still have fond memories of those bygone years.
