Suva Marathon president, Beth Sargent, was amazed by the impressive turnout of more than 500 runners at the Namosi Challenge on Saturday, despite the challenging weather conditions. The event featured a half marathon (21km), an individual marathon (10km), and a team marathon, where groups of four individuals each ran 10km to complete a full marathon. This was Sargent’s third time participating in the Namosi Challenge, and she couldn’t miss the opportunity to run in such a beautiful location.

As a member of the Suva Marathon club, she was also involved in organizing the event and was thrilled to see the enthusiasm and determination of the participants. “This is the third time I have done the Namosi Challenge, I’m also part of the Suva Marathon club so I was part of organising the challenge in this challenge,” said Sargent. “It was amazing race it was soggy with the rain, but it didn’t stop the more then 500 runners for coming and participating in the competition.

” Despite the soggy conditions because of rain, runners showed resilience and determination throughout the race. Sargent mentioned the breathtaking views and support from local communities along the route made it all worthwhile. “It was so beautiful out here the hills are a bit tough, but the views and the communities here along the way are just make you get up those hills.

” She was particularly impressed by the runners’ perseverance and spirit, as they pushed through the tough conditions and neve.
