Imagine Dragons drummer Daniel Platzman has quit the band. After 13 years in the Believer group, the 37-year-old musician is turning his focus to "film scoring and composing" but is forever "grateful" for his time in the band and the "unwavering support" of their fans. Imagine Dragons are currently on world tour promoting their latest album Loom, however Platzman is not credited on their latest release as he has been on hiatus from the group - nor has he been on the band's current tour.

Last year, Platzman confirmed he was taking time away from the band to focus on his health. When Loom was announced in April 2024, he did not appear in any press or videos. The band’s frontman Dan Reynolds also refused to explain Platzman’s absence, talling Rolling Stone: “[He] doesn’t play on [Loom], and I can’t talk about that.

” The singer also confirmed Platzman would be replaced on their current world tour. In a social media statement released this week, Platzman said: "After an incredible journey of over a decade, I will be departing the amazing band that is Imagine Dragons. I wanted to share my deepest gratitude to you, the fans, for your unwavering support and sharing in the joy of music with me.
