A FORMER Coronation Street legend has admitted she is up for a return to the soap to replace the axed Sean Wilson for Gail Platt's exit plot. The Sun exclusively revealed yesterday how Sean had been axed from the soap after it was confirmed his character Martin Platt would be making a return to the show. Mystery surrounds the departure with ITV bosses planning to ditch all of his scenes and re-shoot Gail's exit storyline after actress Helen Worth opted to quit after 50 years.

Now, a former soap star of the 70s has admitted she is "waiting on the call" to take over from Sean to be a part of the plot. Kathy Jones played one of Gail's closest friends Tricia Hopkins on the programme in the 1970s. Tricia lived with Gail at the flat above the corner shop during her stint on the cobbled between 1973 and 1976.
