TRINITY — Some players are at their best when the lights shine the brightest. That's the case with West Morgan senior Ty Jones. "I don't think the kid feels pressure," said West Morgan head football coach Drew Phillips.

"Anytime there's a big moment, there's a look in his eyes that's just different. I think that's what makes him special." The Rebels are 12-0 for the second straight season and there's a who's-who of talented players all around the field they can thank for that.

Lately, however, it's been Jones making all the headlines. It started three weeks ago when West Morgan outlasted Deshler 35-34 in double overtime to finish with an undefeated regular season record. In that game Jones had two touchdowns and then made the game-winning tackle on the final two point play in overtime.

Fast forward to last week and Jones had three more touchdowns in a 28-7 win over Madison Academy. "Whatever I have to do to help us win, that's what I'm going to do," Jones said. "I'm hungry to win.

" Jones made an impact last season for the Rebels, but it was mainly on defense at his primary position of linebacker. This year, coaches felt his talent couldn't be contained to one side of the scrimmage line. So far this season, Jones has lined up at linebacker, quarterback, running back, tight-end and receiver positions.

His stats tell the tale too. On defense he's totaled a team-leading 95 tackles with 13 tackles for loss, four sacks and three interceptions. On offense he's rushed for 202 yards.
