Social media is far from reality, despite how much we immerse ourselves in it, and strive to make our profiles look appealing. One woman, called Sophie Hughes, is trying to uncover the truth behind the screen. The curvy model, with over 59,000 followers, is renowned for her candid discussions about and her past desire to be thin.

Now, she confidently showcases her fuller figure in , and glamorous outfits, garnering significant attention. However, she recently revealed some of the behind-the-scenes tricks people use to "perfect" their images. She posted two photos side-by-side to highlight the differences between Instagram and reality.

In one picture, she was seen posing, sucking in her stomach and has digitally removed her tummy scar. In contrast, the other photo shows her relaxed, looking fuller and with her scar visible. Sophie's aim was to emphasise that "none of it is real", and to encourage people to be "very conscious" when scrolling through social media.

Things aren't always what they seem, and she wants people to know this before they start comparing themselves to others. In her post, Sophie stated: "It's time to become very, very conscious when scrolling. Conscious that almost all of the images you see are tweaked, that the women you compare yourself to do not exist.

"Please don't compare yourself to a completely unrealistic beauty standard, and convince yourself you aren't enough. You weren't born insecure, you were taught to be insecure, and now it's time to heal.".
