Dogs have a habit of ripping apart their toys no matter how 'indestructible' they claim to be. The cost of replacing them every time they're torn apart can mount up – especially if your mischievous pet manages to take it apart just seconds after getting it. But one woman has been hailed a 'genius' online after she claimed to have found a cheaper solution.

The owner, who posts online as @theelmoshow , is known for sharing videos about the life of her Staffordshire-Pointer crossbreed dog, named Elmo. She is known for sharing her furry friend's experiences at dog fayres and on walks in Cardiff, Wales . However, she recently gained more than 67,000 likes after claiming to have ditched buying so-called "indestructible" toys for her pooch and instead bought him a bizarre 80p alternative.

In the clip, she wrote: "When you discover you could've been paying 80p for cabbages all along that last 10x longer than "indestructible" toys." She went on to add in the caption: " Although, make it a time-limited activity due to bloat and air pollution. The possibilities are endless.

You can shred it, it's a ball, you can eat it ." TikTok users were left stunned by the video as they declared the hack "genius" in the comments. One user said: "This is genius.

Why didn't I think of this?" Another added: "Omg I’m so getting one of those tomorrow brilliant idea," while a third wrote: "Best tip ever!!" A fourth also commented: "I'll give this a go with my great dane though she'll probably just run .
