Kanpur: The 59th edition of IIT Kanpur 's annual cultural festival ‘ Antaragni ' kicked off at the university's Outreach Auditorium on Thursday with the theme ‘Syncretic Jaunt'. The inaugural ceremony was attended by guests including Dean of Academic Affairs (DOAA), Dean of Resources and Alumni (DORA), Dean of Research and Development (DORD), Dean of Students' Affairs (DOSA), and other faculty members. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp marked begining of the four-day cultural extravaganza.
This was followed by a classical dance performance of Ganesh Vandana. Faculty members spoke on the importance of embracing diverse cultural elements in line with this year's theme. The ceremony concluded with the national anthem.
Rock Night by the the band All India Permit was the highlight of the inaugural day. Their electrifying performance, especially their hit song ‘Awaara Shaam Hai', captivated the audience. The band's powerful vocals and high energy left a lasting impact and setting the tone for the festival.
This was followed by Talent Fiesta, where participants showcased their impressive skills in music, dance, and other performances. The night concluded with Ritambhara, Antaragni's flagship fashion show. Models took to the runway with confidence, showcasing stunning outfits and innovative designs.
