At present, the technology can engage in text chats and generate images in response to prompts. But Meta is expected to unveil a more powerful version when it confirms the celebrity tie-up at a conference today. Bond actress Dame Judi, Frozen voice star Kristen Bell, 44, and wrestler-turned-Suicide Squad star John Cena, 47, will be among voice options for users, alongside rapper and actress Awkwafina, 36, and US TV actor Keegan-Michael Key, 53, as well as several generic voices.

The company is in a race with Microsoft-backed Chat-GPT maker OpenAI and Google to dominate the emerging technology.
