Nature documentary Walking With Dinosaurs is set to make an epic comeback. The iconic BBC show will return to our screens in 2025 with a fresh six-part series that transports viewers back to the era of the extinct behemoths. First aired in 1999, the revamped programme will "tell the dramatic story of an individual dinosaur" in each episode, as per the BBC .

With a plethora of creatures to select from, Walking With Dinosaurs will spotlight those whose 'remains are currently being unearthed by the world's leading dinosaur hunters." Much like its 90s predecessor, animation and visual effects will be utilised to resurrect these creatures and weave a narrative around their lives based on scientific evidence. This will feature the Spinosaurus, the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever to roam the earth, brought back to life and wandering the rivers of ancient Morocco.

Other highlights include a young Triceratops squaring off against a ravenous T. rex in North America and a solitary giant Lusotitan risking everything for love in Portugal. BBC Studios will collaborate with PBS, co-produced with ZDF and France Televisions, to revive the educational show which gained two Baftas and three Emmy awards.
