ROCHESTER — Ichiddo Ramen , a Minnesota noodle restaurant chain with its own chef school, looks to be bringing its authentic Japanese ramen to Rochester. Ichiddo Ramen filed four permits with the City of Rochester in late August to build out a 2,600-square-foot space at 1123 Civic Center Drive NW in Barlow Plaza . That is the spot that is closest to Civic Center, directly across the street from the north Walgreens store.

No obvious construction has started yet. Ichiddo Ramen’s Minneapolis office has not responded to questions about the project. The Rochester location is not on Ichiddo Ramen’s list on its website.

However, the company had previously listed Rochester as a future restaurant site back in 2023. ADVERTISEMENT The permits estimate the value of turning the space into a ramen restaurant at more than $350,000. The last business to occupy that spot was Profile by Sanford , a weight-loss center.

It housed Mega Express Laundry prior to Profile By Sanford. Ichiddo Ramen has 16 locations across the country. Ten of those restaurants are located in Minnesota, mostly in the Twin Cities area.

It also has locations in New York, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee and Florida. Ichiddo’s menu features traditional Japanese ramen, stir fried ramen, donburi, classic appetizers and boba tea..
