Prayagraj: The Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Alumni Association has announced the Distinguished Alumni Awards (DAA) for the year 2024 The duly screening and award committee called for nominations for six different categories of awards in July 2024, with the last date being Aug 31. A total of 64 nominations were received across all eight categories of awards. For the Lifetime Achievement Award, Vivek Mansingh , an alumnus of BE Mechanical Engineering in 1978, has been selected by the association.

Mansingh is currently the founder and general partner at YourNest, a technology venture capital fund. He was president at Cisco Systems and was the country head of Dell India. He holds six US patents, informs the president of the association, Prof Avanish Dubey.

Under the category of ‘Distinguished Moti' – Young Achiever Award in the women's category, alumna of B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) of the 2015 batch, Saumya Pandey, has been selected. Currently an IAS officer of the UP cadre holding the position of Additional Labour Commissioner in Kanpur, Pandey secured the fourth position in the coveted UPSC Civil Services Exam 2016 in her very first attempt.

In the Young Achiever Award (men's) category, Rahul Dev Sharma has been selected. An IPS officer of the 2010 batch, he is posted as DIG Training, Police Headquarters, Mangalgiri, Andhra Pradesh. Due to his relentless efforts and work in extremist areas, he was awarded the police medal for gallantry in 2017.
