Music legend Paul Weller once boasted the reputation as one of British rock’s biggest party - but these days his post-gig party is a simple cup of tea. Weller admits that he has ditched getting sozzled after shows for a peaceful cup of char. The former Jam singer enjoys reflecting on the night’s performance before putting his head down to kip.

Weller laughed: “I used to get really, really, really out of it. Just get really drunk and smashed like wee all did. The only way you could deal with it.

“But these days I don’t do that. And so I’m just really boring. “I just come off and have a cup of tea and calm myself down.

And then think about the evening and look at it and process it and then go to my room.” Weller has stuck to one of his old-school habits though - spending his cash on music and looking dapper. "It’s the same two things.

I’m just able to buy more of ‘em, and that’s music and clothes. Outside of that, I mean apart from family which is important to me. but outside of those two things, I’ve not really got too many other interests.

They’re the things I still love." Weller was speaking to 5 Live..
