Disc jockey, Patricia Iwuagwu, aka DJ Commissioner Wysei, has said that dispute with a show promoter led to her arrest by the police some months ago. Recall that in April 2024, DJ Wysei was said to have been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Lagos by the Magistrate Court at Eti-Osa, also in Lagos, for allegedly assaulting some police officers. The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, had said that Wysei faced charges for assaulting officers, resisting arrest, and obstructing them in the discharge of their duties.

However, in a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the DJ stated that she was not remanded in prison, and was granted bail on the same day as her arrest. She stated that after the promoter’s wife begged for leniency, she accepted an offer to settle the matter out of court, prioritising her brand’s reputation over the financial compensation.
