With Anthony Yarde (25-3, 25 KOs) set to make his ring return this weekend when he faces Ralfs Vilcans (17-1, 7 KOs) on the Adam Azim vs Ohara Davies undercard, he tells Sky Sports that he’s aiming to secure himself a bid into some of the biggest fights that can be made in the light heavyweight division, including a third shot at a world title. Yarde references the ol ‘third time’s a charm’ saying when stating his belief that he’ll be able to get over the hump after falling short to Sergey Kovalev and Artur Beterbiev in past world title opportunities, and knows he can’t afford to slip up at this level if he’s to get where he wants to go. The 33-year-old British fighter has won two low level fights in quick fashion after he was stopped by Beterbiev back in early 2023, and will be in against marginally better opposition than he last faced when he takes on Vilcans on Saturday.
