We have a lot to be proud of thanks to our food and drink scene in north Wales. From Halen Môn to Wrexham Lager and Edwards of Conwy, these are just some of the businesses that have rightfully made a name for themselves on the culinary scene. And along with fantastic produce, we have luckily garnered a good reputation for our eateries as well.

Recently, 11 restaurants were named as the best places to eat in Wales as the Good Food Guide announced its 100 best local restaurants for 2024. Of those 11, Catch 22 Brasserie in Valley on Ynys Môn was described as a "hidden gem" and praised for its classic cocktail menu and tapas-style sharing platters. With that, I decided to visit the family-owned restaurant on the west coast of Anglesey .

I had known about Catch 22 for a few years, but this was my first time dining at the restaurant. On a Sunday evening at the end of July it was fairly busy, with most tables filled with families or friends enjoying their summer holidays. There was plenty to choose from, including a separate vegan menu that went down well with the vegan of our group. The Catch 22 Sunday menu is served from 12pm until 7pm, with one course at £23, two courses for £29 and three c.
