A woman who sleeps in a jaw strap, eye patches and tapes her mouth shut says she's had negative comments, but it has helped her sleep better than ever, as well as meaning she can "age gracefully". Mayte Myers, who is 27, decided to take action to improve what she called her "deep crow's feet". She doesn't want to commit to cosmetic surgery and so has tried to help the process naturally by enhancing her skincare and bedtime routine.

Mayte puts on skincare products before her eye patches, jaw strap, hair bonnet and mouth tape. While she said some trolls say 'who would want to go to bed with her looking like that?’, she felt the routine had helped her skin feel brighter. Mayte, a content creator, said: “People have commented blaming me for setting high beauty standards for pushing what is necessary to do to meet those standards.

I’ve also had people saying I’m doing it for the male gaze, and then others saying ‘Oh but who would want to go to bed with her looking like that?’ “My husband Dakota did laugh at first, but now calls me the 'de-shedding queen'. I’ve even tried a forehead patch and mouth tape on him. It does look weird , but it's breathable, comfortable, and encourages you to keep your mouth shut when you’re asleep.
