As summer arrives, many Brits are jetting off to sunnier climes to enjoy beach resorts overlooking swimming pools. But as one reporter recently discovered, you don't need to hop on a plane to enjoy stunning seaside views and superb service. When reports the Liverpool Echo reporter Ellen Kirwin embarked on a staycation at the 'dreamy' Quay Hotel and Spa in North Wales , she was not disappointed by the idyllic views over the Conwy Estuary and towards historic Conwy Castle.

After driving around an hour and 20 minutes from her base in Liverpool, the reporter was astounded by the beauty that greeted her saying "I've spent countless hours travelling only to be greeted by a mediocre beach in a slightly warmer climate." A super friendly staff member welcomed us, checked us in, and confirmed a few details, including our tea time slot at the Ebb and Flow Restaurant within the hotel.

" Heading straight up to her room that truly delivered the 'wow factor' Ellen described the stunning scene from their window as "incredible." She said: "Our bed overlooked room-length sliding doors which overlooked a small dock with three boats tied up. "These doors opened out to a private balcony which allowed us to really take in the views across the marina and towards Conwy Castle.
