Summertime is upon us, so many people will be jetting off to reach warmer climates with beach resorts and pools. But you don't have to travel far and wide on a plane to be treated to beautiful seaside vistas. Last week, I was lucky enough to not only get a spell of dry weather but also to be heading off on a staycation, to the dreamy Quay Hotel and Spa in North Wales.

We were promised idyllic views over the Conwy Estuary and towards the historic Conwy Castle and it did not disappoint. Arriving at the hotel, after around a hour and 20 minute drive from Liverpool city centre, my first thought was I can't believe this is practically on Merseyside's doorstep. In the past I've spent hours and hours travelling , only to be welcomed with a mediocre beach, in a slightly warmer climate.

But these magical views were right under my nose. I stayed in a mountain spa lodge with beautiful coastline views Island dubbed the 'Hawaii of Europe' that you can fly to from Liverpool John Lennon Airport My high from the seaside breeze only grew when I walked into The Quay Hotel and was welcomed by a super friendly member of staff, who checked us in and confirmed a few details, including that all important tea time slot in the Ebb and Flow Restaurant in the hotel. Then it was straight up to our room which really offered the wow-factor.

If we thought the views from the hotel car park were nice, the view of the estuary from our room was incredible. Our bed overlooked room length sliding doors which ove.
