Weekdays are busy and we start early in our house so a lie in is always great on the weekends. I used to get woken up by the children but these days it’s normally my golden retriever and cocker spaniel eager for their breakfast. I still wake early at the weekends, but I’ll try and sneak back to bed with a cup of tea and a book for an hour.

10am is a perfect time to rise on a weekend...

a lie in but still plenty of time to enjoy the day. I’m a big fan of breakfast. I live near Dromore Co Down and there are some great cafes to get an amazing breakfast.

Although I would never rule out a cheeky bottomless brunch with friends once in a while. Maybe a walk round St George’s Market in the morning or the local artisan market. I am an amateur gardening nerd, so I love pottering around my little garden and planting.

I have tried to grow my own vegetables the past few years with varying degrees of success. Slugs are my nemesis and seem to eat everything I grow, but at least I’m adding to the ecosystem. A nice relaxing day with the family.

A brisk walk on one of our beautiful local beaches with my two dogs to blow out the cobwebs, finished off by a lovely Sunday lunch in a cosy pub with a nice glass of red wine. I love nature and being in a forest or near the ocean. We have so many hidden gems in Northern Ireland.

It’s a great place to explore especially as everywhere is reasonably close by and accessible. I also love being cosy at home surrounded by family and dogs, .
