This week’s choices include David Sedaris, Frankie Boyle and Nora Ephron Clockwise from left: Frankie Boyle, Nora Ephron and Paul Murray I went to see Kneecap in the cinema a couple of weeks ago. It’s a fantastic reality-based comedy about the eponymous West Belfast hip-hop group. They all play themselves, most of the film is as Gaeilge , it’s sharp, fast, and the soundtrack is cracking (as is their new album).

It’s also very, very funny. Don’t worry, Mr Editor, I’m not angling for a film review column — bear with me. Laughing out loud doesn’t always come easily to me.

If I’m surrounded by other people, as I was at the screening, it’s infectious and I laugh like a drain. Join the Irish Independent WhatsApp channel Stay up to date with all the latest news.
