It always feels like such an achievement, to discover a hidden gem of a restaurant, so when I found this lovely place to eat with a friend I felt pretty smug. Deciding to meet in the middle of Berkshire and Surrey, we settled for the lovely Windsor. I feel I often overlook Windsor as I grew up so close to the town and spent many a weekend there shopping as a child and teenager.

Now I have moved a bit further away and it’s sadly no longer my local haunt, it oddly feels nostalgic to return. My friend suggested we park at East Berkshire College car park which was a good suggestion, and then we walked up towards Peascod Street, towards Windsor Castle which was lit up against the evening sky. We came across a little restaurant tucked away between shops, called the Chutney House.
