The rolling coverage of the Paris Olympics may have you longing for a visit to France. While sport takes centre stage this summer, we all know what France is really famous for: food. Buttery croissants, crisp baguettes, comforting onion soup, mouthwatering cheeses, refreshing salade nicoise - the list goes on.

And, of course, mention must be made of the infamous escargot . Given France’s gastronomy, it’s rather surprising that French restaurants are quite hard to come by in the UK. We have an abundance of pizzerias, curry houses and Chinese takeaways, but not many places wave the culinary flag for our closest neighbour.
