Hyderabad: Statue of Sardar Papanna Maharaj to be Erected on Tank Bund

: BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar said a statue of Sardar Papanna Maharaj, who fought against the Nizams, would be erected on Tank Bund in Hyderabad. Speaking at a meeting in Ravindra Bharathi on Sunday, Prabhakar said, “Sardar Papanna strove for the welfare of the Backward Class communities. He fought against the Nizam rulers and landlords and worked for the uplift of backward communities.

” Prabhakar exhorted the Goud and other Backward Class communities to tread the path of Sardar Pappanna. Those who participated in the meeting include Jai Goud committee national president Rama Rao Goud, BJP senior leader T. Veerender Goud and former MLA Bhikshamayya Goud.
