A British supermodel known for her stunning looks during the height of the 90s has been laid to rest in Kent. Georgina Cooper, who grew up in South London but moved to the county, was on holiday on the island of Kos when she died last month . The supermodel’s funeral service was held today during a packed ceremony at Vinters Park Crematorium in Maidstone where her husband led tributes.
It is understood the 46-year-old had settled down in Bearsted, near Maidstone , with her family and husband Nigel, and worked in the village. The pair married earlier this year, with the reception held at the Fox and Goose in Weavering. They later had their honeymoon in Kos.
The mum-of-one is understood to have been staying at a hotel on the island when she was taken unwell on October 21 and conveyed to a nearby hospital. It was reported she was then airlifted to a facility in Heraklion, on the island of Crete, where she died five days later in intensive care. Her cause of death was reported as cirrhosis of the liver and internal bleeding after her organs failed.
The Mail reported her husband paid tribute to the “love of my life” at the service attended by family and close friends. The couple wed in May this year at the Fox and Goose pub in Bearsted, where she was working as a barmaid. Leading tributes today, Nigel said: “I loved you from the day I first met you.
