Sunday, February 2, 2025 At the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2025, which took place in Mumbai, India, Thailand showcased its vast array of attractions with a particular focus on strengthening its relationship with Indian tourists. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) presented a variety of offerings, aiming to capture the attention of both leisure and business travelers from India, with an emphasis on cultural experiences, wellness retreats, and luxury tourism. The event, considered South Asia’s largest travel trade fair, brought together over 1,600 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, and attracted over 40,000 visitors, including travel professionals and enthusiasts.
With its active participation in this prestigious event, Thailand aimed to not only showcase its vibrant tourism sector but also attract more visitors from India, one of its fastest-growing markets. Promoting Thai Tourism to the Indian Market The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) highlighted the growing importance of Indian tourists to the country’s economy, underlining that over 2 million Indian visitors had traveled to Thailand in 2024 alone. TAT Governor, Ms.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, expressed the agency’s commitment to further increasing these numbers. With a target of 2.3 million Indian visitors in 2025, TAT is looking to tap into the immense potential of the Indian market, with a special focus on attracting first-time visitors.
