Splitting your work week between your home and the office offers the benefit of a change of scenery, which can ignite your creativity and spark a new sense of motivation to get things done. However, the shift can also disrupt your routine.

The office is filled with a brand new set of distractions, which raises a new set of productivity challenges. According to Alexis Haselberger , a coach specialising in time management, productivity, and leadership, distractions can be categorised into three distinct categories: technology, our own brains, and – the biggest office challenge – other people. “Many of my clients find it difficult to accomplish anything on the days they go into the office due to constant interruptions,” she said.

To make sure you stay on track, Haselberger suggested making a realistic plan each morning to outline what you will work on that day.

“This will help you better evaluate incoming tasks, and pings, so you can determine if they are worth changing your plan, or if you need to push back,” she said.
