Saturday, August 17, 2024 Uri Forum urges promotion of the new Srinagar -Uri bus route to boost tourism in Kashmir. The Uri Development Forum, an advocacy group based in the border town of Uri in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir, has reached out to the Kashmir Tourism Department, advocating for enhanced promotional efforts for the Srinagar-Uri bus route that was recently introduced. This initiative aims to boost tourism in the region by facilitating easier access for visitors.

Naveed Bukhtiyar, who co-founded the Forum, took a proactive step by sending a detailed letter to the Director of Tourism in Kashmir. In his correspondence, Bukhtiyar detailed the operational aspects of the new bus service, which runs twice daily. The buses set off from Srinagar at 7:20 am and 3:30 pm, establishing a reliable link between the two locations.

The introduction of this bus service is seen as a significant move to invigorate the local tourism sector by providing tourists with dependable transportation. This connectivity is expected to encourage more visits, enabling travelers to explore the scenic and cultural richness of Uri without the hassle of arranging private transport..
