Emerging talent Diego Gutierrez has recently disclosed that he poured his raw emotions into a soul-stirring song, a poignant reflection of the end of his enduring seven-year romance.
"Huling Sayaw is the first song I wrote after the breakup," said Diego during an interview in Quezon City recently. "The song is upbeat, but the lyrics are sad." Diego, 27, mentioned that he had been in a relationship for seven years.
He clarified that there was no third party involved. His family knew it although he didn't share anything about his relationship on social media. "I am in a better position now after the breakup.
" Asked if his girlfriend knew he wrote a song about their breakup, to which he responded, "Siguro pag maririnig niya, malalaman niya." The song "Huling Sayaw" will be released at midnight on Oct. 2.
He is also excited about his forthcoming gigs in October. The release party for the song will be held at Mansion Makati City on Oct. 4.
Diego said he did not study music, although he took voice lessons. "I had voice lessons, and I wanted to take more voice lessons. I took up integrated marketing in college at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
" Some of his musical influences were John Meyer, Sam Mendez, and The 1975. He also plays the guitar and takes piano lessons. When asked how he moved on from the breakup, he said: "I just pray.
