US President-elect Donald Trump , on Wednesday, officially announced the establishment of Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE meant to cut government spending and curtail regulations. Trump has endorsed DOGE as the "Manhattan Project of our time." Its primary mission is to reduce government bureaucracy, eliminate unnecessary regulations, and cut wasteful spending.

In an official statement, Trump said that "They will work together to liberate our economy, and make the US government accountable to 'WE THE PEOPLE'. Their work will conclude no later than July 4, 2026."
