A few new dragons were also spotted along the way. Even the Battle of the Gullet was a cliffhanger for the fans of HOTD. As the many cliffhangers hang and the various armies get into position, here are a few questions we’re still contemplating as we await Season 3.

. This season has been low on magic, except at Harrenhal, where Daemon (Matt Smith) experienced waking dreams influenced by Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin). In the finale, Alys granted him a vision that hinted at future events in The appearance of a pale face with a wine-coloured birthmark suggested the Three-Eyed Raven's identity as Brynden Rivers, a future descendant of Daemon.

Rhaena Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell) has been tracking a wild dragon in the Vale, known for barbecuing local sheep. In the Season 2 finale, she finally encounters it, and its intentions remain unclear. Readers recognise this dragon as a Sheepstealer.

Will he choose Rhaena as his rider? In the final montage, another dragon flies overhead as the Hightower army marches to battle. This appears to be Tessarion, ridden by Daeron, Alicent’s often-forgotten third son. Additionally, Seasmoke's choice of a new rider, Addam of Hull (Clinton Liberty), raises a significant question.
