Viewers have been left in awe after a Nottingham couple transformed a cosy cottage into their dream retirement home, which makes them feel "like they are on holiday" everyday. On Wednesday, July 24, an episode of Homes Under The Hammer showed Dion Dublin travel to the Derbyshire countryside to check out a semi-detached two-bedroom cottage. Nestled into the hamlet of Makeney, near Belper, the property had a guide price of £260,000.

Immediately viewers of the popular property show could clearly see that Dion loved the property, and before even going inside he could be heard saying: "It looks very pretty. All this is very very nice." Once inside keen viewers were shown a woodburner, the brand new sash windows and tall ceilings.

Despite being a cottage the lounge was a "good size" and the bedrooms upstairs could each fit a double bed. There was a kitchen fitted with everything you could need and a smaller utility room, which Dion admitted he would usually have liked to see knocked in to expand the kitchen, but the cottage was so nice already that he "wouldn't want to change too much." He was also impressed with the "massive" bathroom, exclaiming: "It's a really good size bathroom for the size of the cottage.

" There was also a modest-sized garden and a brick-built garage, which is perfect for storage, and there is also potential to extend. It wasn't long before viewers were introduced to Tony, an electrical engineer from Nottingham who purchased the property for the guide price o.
