Actress Diane Langton is known to soap fans as Hollyoaks' Nana McQueen, but she once starred in legendary BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses. Only Fools aired between 1981 and 2003 and during the show's run, Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter (played by David Jason ) had a string of love interests before finally settling down with Raquel Turner (Tessa Peake-Jones). One of his former lovers was June Snell, an ex-girlfriend who reappeared in Del's life during the 1985 episode Happy Returns.

During the instalment, Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst) finds himself smitten with a local newsagent worker named Debbie. In a twist of fate, Del Boy saves a young boy from being hit by a car, only to later discover that the boy is running away from home due to getting into trouble for deflating the tyres on the Trotters' Reliant Robin. In a bid to help the boy, Del takes him home and is taken aback when he realises the boy's mother is his old flame, June Snell.

Upon discovering that June has a 19-year-old daughter named Debbie, Del jumps to the conclusion that he must be her father and warns Rodney to stay away from her, believing they are related. However, June reveals that Debbie's actual father is Albie Littlewood, one of Del's old friends who tragically died after taking a shortcut across a railway line. Following this revelation, Del and June part ways once again.

Yet, in the 1986 Christmas special A Royal Flush, June makes another appearance. As Rodney attempts to woo Lady Victoria Marsham Hale.
