Gamescom is one of the biggest showcases of new and upcoming games in the world and this year’s event kicks off later this week, with Gamescom running from August 21 to 25. However the producer of Gamescom’s Opening Night Live show Geoff Keighley has taken to social media to confirm one title that won’t be announced during the event.

In 2023, it was confirmed the game would miss its early 2023 launch window . “We’re excited by how the game is shaping up, and it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can,” explained marketing and publishing lead Matthew Griffin at the time.
“Expect more details from us once we get closer to release,” he added, but the sequel still doesn’t have a release date. That hasn’t stopped fans from expecting news during every Nintendo Direct or Xbox Showcase that’s happened since, which is probably why Keighley is trying to get ahead of those.
