At its heart is Tahrir Square and the vast Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities including royal mummies and King Tutankhamun artefacts. Around 10 miles from the heart of Cairo is Giza, the home of the world-famous pyramids and Great Sphinx, which date back to the 26th century BC.
