Saturday, August 24, 2024 Himachal Pradesh is set to enhance its tourism appeal with the introduction of a new flight route connecting Chandigarh, Kullu, and Dharamsala. The State Government is actively engaging with airlines and stakeholders to launch this route, aimed at improving accessibility between two of the state’s key tourist destinations. The anticipated direct flight between Kullu and Dharamsala is expected to offer significant benefits to the tourism sector, addressing a long-standing demand from visitors and making travel between these popular locations more convenient.

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized the government’s commitment to attracting high-end tourists to the State. “Strengthening air connectivity was crucial to achieving our tourism goals and reducing travel time and costs for tourists is essential,” he stated. He said that “Himachal Pradesh was blessed with breathtaking landscapes and has immense potential for tourism.

Systematic development of tourism infrastructure would not only increase tourist footfalls but also bolster the local economy. The more tourists we attract, the more benefits would accrue to the people of the State.” Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the State Government, four flight routes are now operational, linking Himachal Pradesh’s scenic destinations with major cities across the country.
