Pune: A specialised sports and health unit has started at the city’s Balewadi stadium , which, officials said, hasdbeen set up to meet the growing demand for high-end care among sportspersons. The centre, I-Sport Medical , will offer a comprehensive range of services, including injury prevention, management and recovery. It was inaugurated last week by deputy CM Ajit Pawar, who is also president of the Maharashtra Olympic Association.
Dr Sumedh Magar, orthopaedic surgeon and director of I-SPORT medical centre and sports medicine, Khelo India, said: “We have a team of orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, biomechanists and human performance scientists.
