A mum has told of the terror after saving her baby during a super yacht tragedy that left seven people feared dead. Charlotte Golunski was onboard the boat when the horror incident unfolded in Santa Flavia. Her baby daughter was briefly swept into the sea after the luxury £25m boat sank when it was hit by a powerful tornado .

But the desperate mum was luckily able to keep a hold of the one-year-old and pull her to safety. Charlotte told how she then managed to clamber onboard a lifeboat with 10 other people as the yacht capsized . The 36-year-old told the Mirror : "For two seconds I lost my baby in the sea, then I immediately hugged her again amid the fury of the waves.

I held her tightly, close to me, while the sea was stormy . "Many were screaming. Luckily the lifeboat inflated and 11 of us managed to get on board.

I held her afloat with all my strength, my arms stretched upwards to keep her from drowning. It was all dark. In the water, I couldn’t keep my eyes open.

I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others.” One of those missing is a wealthy businessman dubbed “Britain’s Bill Gates.” Tycoon Mike Lynch is feared trapped in the wreckage of his superyacht which sank off the Sicily coast.

Dr Domenico Cipolla, A&E chief at the Giovanni di Cristina paediatric hospital in Palermo, spoke about Charlotte’s experience. Dr Cipolla said: “She told me that while they were sleeping, at a certain point the yacht overturned due to the torn.
