The Escalation of Freedom update was released earlier this week, taking Helldivers 2 into Arc 2 of the Galactic War. Unfortunately, some of the changes weren’t well received by the community, with changes to fire and fire weapons being nerfed being among the least popular changes. But, Arrowhead isn’t ignoring player complaints and seems to be actively looking at ways to rectify the issues and also take measures to prevent it from happening in the future.

The Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani took to X to say that he has “spent the last few hours reading and commenting on your thoughts on the latest patch,” before going on to note that “We’ll be listening more and there’ll be more improvements/tweaks coming.” Many Helldivers 2 players took to the replies to ask various questions regarding the update and what to expect in the future, including @ReddingWilson who suggested that Arrowhead works with players to host a private test server to get feedback on updates from a wider player base beyond the devs before going live. “A few other live service games have a “player test environment” for a final round of feedback before release to gather feedback from a more diverse playgroup than an internal QA team can muster.

It might prevent a lot of this kind of drama,” they said. Jorjani then replied saying “Yep. on the wishlist.

” This would be a great way to test updates before they are released, as Jorjani has previously stated that the developers are.
