MIAMI — The Miami Heat have moved to the max with their training camp roster, with the Thursday announcement of the signing of guard Caleb Daniels. A veteran of two summer-league tours with the Heat, as well as a season with the Heat’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, Daniels was added on an Exhibit 10 camp tryout contract. The addition puts the Heat at the NBA maximum of 21 players for next week’s start of training camp at the Baha Mar resort in the Bahamas .

Undrafted out of Villanova in 2023 after previously playing at Tulane, Daniels, 25, has impressed the Heat with his maturity, working with the Heat on a similar camp tryout deal last year. In 31 regular-season games with the Skyforce last season, which included 22 starts, Daniels averaged 12.9 points, 5.

He scored in double-figures 21 times, recording six 20-point games, including four consecutive 20-point games. He posted two double-doubles and connected on multiple 3-pointers 14 times, including a season-high six against the OKC Blue on Feb. 13.

Among Skyforce leaders, he finished second in rebounds and third in points, assists, blocks and 3-pointers. During summer league in July, he appeared in seven games with the Heat, averaging 6.0 points, 3.
