Hawaiian Airlines has packed up and moved to a new terminal at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) . The move comes as the carrier is actively working to closely align and optimize its operations with its now-sister carrier, Alaska Airlines . While Alaska finalized its acquisition of Hawaiian nearly three months ago, changes have already been implemented at airports and routes served by both airlines.

The work will continue as additional airports are set to see operational alignments unfold in the new year. Welcome home Hawaiian made the move from the International Terminal at SFO to Alaska's home at Harvey Milk Terminal 1 on Tuesday. The airline told Simple Flying that it now shares a check-in counter in a “co-location” at the terminal.

“Starting today, Hawaiian Airlines will move its check-in counter and airport operations at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) from the International Terminal to Harvey Milk Terminal 1 in a co-location with Alaska Airlines.” In June, Alaska officially “consolidated operations” at Terminal 1 after a two-year relocation project from its former location, which was Terminal 2. It happened concurrently with the opening of the final section of Terminal 1.

Described as a “cutting-edge space,” the airline’s check-in area debuted automated bag drops to process checked bags. Alaska says the “innovative and seamless self-service technology” allows “guests through the check-in process within minutes.” Harvey Milk Te.
