As India says goodbye to the luxury airline as it takes off for the last time on Monday, people have taken to their social media accounts with their emotional messages for Vistara ahead of its integration with Air India the following day. Devoted Vistara fliers while being nostalgic for the death of the luxury airline are worried about the fall in cabin service standards post merger — one of the things that made the airline differentiate itself in an industry dominated by low-cost airlines. Air India has said Vistara’s catering is set to be extended to all planes across the new merged airline, in an effort to assuage some of such concern.

'Farewell to India’s finest domestic airline' "Wrapped up my last flight on @airvistara before its merger with @airindia, set to complete in two days. Filled with nostalgia for the great flights and excellent service that made Vistara India's best airline. Wishing them all the best for this new chapter!" posted passenger Chirag Naik on X.

Another user, Brown Sahiba, shared on X, "Really tragic. What a great airline and product Vistara was. Mergers are always scary -- and one brand always dies.

In this case, it will be Vistara. Reminds me of the last flight I took on Jet Airways, the evening before they stopped flying for good. Sad to see good brands die.
