A new teaser trailer for the second season of 1923 , a prequel to Yellowstone , has arrived on the heels of the Yellowstone series finale , which ended with its fifth season on Sunday. In the new 1923 clip, Harrison Ford ’s Jacob declares, “This ranch is under attack. Our way of life is under attack,” setting the harrowing tone for the impending war the Duttons are gearing up to fight to protect their Bozeman, Montana family ranch.

The fight over their land summons Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) home, which will require him to traverse a precarious transcontinental journey to join the fight alongside his family. “This ranch will drive you to your death,” Mirren’s Cara warns her husband, Jacob. Later in the trailer, Jacob stands his ground regarding an unspecified threat.

“I think this is about as far as I feel like being pushed,” he says. Season One traced a new generation of the Dutton family following the one-season 10 episode series 1883, the first Yellowstone prequel spinoff, which starred Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw. and Faith Hill.

1923’s next generation of Duttons is helmed by patriarch Jacob (the brother of Tim McGraw’s character) and matriarch Cara, who navigate early 20th century challenges and threats to their way of life. The Taylor Sheridan-created series, which returns on Feb. 23 via Paramount+, also stars Timothy Dalton, Jerome Flynn, Darren Mann, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Michelle Randolph, and Sebastian Roché.
